Eric Busch Selected Paintings

The paintings hung on this wall were painted by deceased Philadelphia artist Eric Busch. Busch died in his studio November 29, 2002. During the late 1970’s and early 1980’s his paintings appeared in numerous solo and group shows in Philadelphia galleries. The Allegheny Museum of Art presented a show of his work, and touted him as a future master. Sales of his work were brisk and growing.

At this point several burgeoning personal tragedies drove him into seclusion where he became a painting recluse.

Poet Stephen A. Rozwenc, his lifelong friend, has taken on the task of bringing Busch’s works back into the public eye,

arranging solo and group presentations. He is also working

on a collection of ekphrastic poems. Each poem uses a specific Busch painting as its inspiration “springboard”.

The paintings currently hung on this wall are a small sampling of a private collection of over 250 paintings and 300 drawings. From time to time different paintings will be hung on the wall to give viewers a chance to see more of Busch’s work. High quality inkjet and G-clee prints of the originals are available at reduced prices. Unframed inkjet print prices start at $100 and G-clee’s at $600. Contact Stephen A. Rozwenc at 413-268- 3282 or go to

This painting uses the image of the Connecticut River and the Oxbowl located in Northampton, MA repeated four times to present a 21st century hieroglyph that could represent any number of metaphors. The image was imagined by the painter to be "how an Indian God would see the light of the sun through the water while lying beneath the river at the oxbow."
